Find a Metron-PX User

Metron-PX was used to track progress as hoof conformation changed.
In lateral radiographs, one of the important parameters we measure
is "P3 Descent" -- this is the vertical distance from the
hairline at the top of the dorsal hoof wall down to the top of the
"extensor process" on the P3 bone. If this value is too
large, it may indicate that the bone has "sunk" within the
hoof capsule. Some people believe that once this has occured, nothing
can be done to fix it. But this month's example shows that with proper
shoeing techniques, within a few months, the bone "rose up"
relative to the hoof capsule. In this case, these changes also coincided
with the horse becoming much more sound.
