What is it?
Metron-U is PC software for equine veterinarians
who perform ultrasound exams on musculoskeletal
structures in the leg.
Metron-U supports over 20 specific tendon and ligament
exams.
How is it used?
Ultrasound images from your machine or digital
image capture device are imported and displayed within Metron-U. You then use the mouse on your PC to circle soft tissue structures
(tendons & ligaments) and lesion perimeters. You input lesions grades and fiber alignment
scores. Metron-U archives
all images and exam information in its database; this includes
information on the horse, owner(s), trainers, dates of exams,
reasons for exams, structures examined, treatments and therapies
prescribed, etc. Metron-U
automatically formats reports that can be printed or faxed to
the owner, trainer, or other parties.
Why use Metron-U?
·
Spend less time
at the horse eliminate time spent measuring tendons
and ligaments while at the horse.
These activities are better done later at your PC
·
Take advantage
of todays PCs by moving the job of dealing with
ultrasound images to the PC, you have simple advantages such as
color displays of the marked structures in the image, ability
to add other annotations to images, use of standard printers and
faxing software, etc. The
user interfaces and built in software in Ultrasound machines will
never keep up with the greater PC world.
·
All previous exams
archived an automatic benefit of using Metron-U is
that all previous exams are stored on your PC.
Metron-U takes advantage of this when generating reports
to automatically provide computations showing percentage improvement
in structures over multiple exams.
No way to do this with software built into todays
ultrasound machines.
·
Generate professional
reports in a fraction of the time above all, Metron-U
is a report generation tool.
With Metron-U, you simply select treatment, procedure,
bandaging, and other options from pull-down menus and the bulk
of the report is written for you. Metron-U also maintains a database of names, addresses, phone numbers,
etc for owners, trainers, consulting veterinarians, etc.
