Metron 3D!
What Is It?
Once you've entered a lateral radiograph into Metron and done the
usual 'guided-markup' procedure, Metron 3D creates 3-D models of
the 4 bones of the digit! It only takes a few seconds to create
these models, and then you can "fly around" them and view
them from any angle. You can artciulate the joints and investigate
how an "ideal stance" differs from the current stance
as recorded in the radiograph. You can also produce a movie file
(an *.avi file) to show to colleagues or clients!

How Does it Work?
Metron 3D has "canonical models" for each of the 4 bones
of the digit (P1, P2, P3, and Navicular). Based on the picks made
during the standard "guided mark-up" procedure in Metron-PX,
these standard canonical bone models are "morphed" (that
is, scaled and stretched in a special way) so that they match the
picked points! This is, of course, an approximate method, but morphologically
speaking, the bones produced by Metron 3D will resemble the bones
in the actual horse.
The Future of Metron 3D
We have many plans for Metron 3D in the future, including operations
involving all the standard views of the foot. We will be adding
a transparent hoof model as well.
How Do I Get Metron 3D?
Metron 3-D is contained within Metron-Pro,
which you can order using our secure Order
Form or by calling us.
To Download Metron 3D (For Metron version 3 only!)
"Metron 3D" is an option to Metron-PX version 3. You
must have Metron-PX version 3.1 or later to be able to use the 3D
option. Please note that now, in version 4.0 a forward, the "3-D
Option" is a part of "Metron-Pro" and not sold seperately.

3 and who have not upgraded to version 4:
