What is in Metron-Pro that is not in basic Metron?
1) Automatic Creation of Before/After Morphs
Beginning with version 4.0, Metron-Pro now contains the ability
to create a "morph" between any two images. A "morph"
is an animation in which the first image (the "before"
image) gradually turns into the second image (the "after"
image). It is a powerful way for the human eye to see and appreciate
change. The great thing about morphs in Metron-Pro is that you get
them for almost no additional effort once you have performed the
standard "guided mark-up" of two images following our
patented method.
2) Automatic Calibration of Radiographs
Beginning with version 4.32, Metron-Pro now has the
ability to automatically find certain scale markers in radiographs.
To use this feature, you need our Auto-Scaler
or one of our new Metron blocks which has the Auto-Scaler built
into it. The autoscaler contains metal markers in a certain pattern
that Metron recognizes automatically in order to calibrate the image.
Just place the Auto-Scaler in the 'plane of interest' and shoot
the x-ray; when the image is imported to Metron, you'll see that
Metron located the scale automatically!
3) The 3-D Option
Metron-Pro now also contains the former '3-D Option'. This option
provides the link between 2-D images and 3-D models! For example,
once you have entered a lateral radiograph of the equine digit and
done the standard "guided mark-up" picking, Metron-Pro
can build 3-D models of the 4 bones of the digit and animate them
on the screen. You can learn a bit more about the 3-D option here.
4) Output PDF Files
The Pro Option also allows Metron reports to be written
as PDF files. These can then be e-mailed or put onto CDs.
5) Burn CDs
The Pro Option also allows users to directly burn CDs from Metron
to back up their database, as well as to put Metron reports directly
to a CD. In order to use the CD feature, you must have the Nero
CD product installed on your computer.
We supply a Nero CD as part of your order of the Pro Option.
6) Database Tools
For users who use Metron heavily, there soon becomes
a need for tools to back-up the database of images. Users
that use Metron on multiple computers (perhaps a laptop and a desktop
computer back at the clinic) the database option gives ways to merge
the data from the laptop into the main database in the clinic. Rather
than the database being local to the computer running Metron, the
Pro option allows the database to be located anywhere on
the network - perhaps on a main 'server' computer. Users in a clinic
where two or more desktop computers are used to run Metron can share
a common database if the have the Pro option.
7) Support for RDC Digitizer
The Pro Option also supports the direct browsing and importation
of digital images coming from the RDC unit.
This gives users a great way to digitize their film radiographs,
scale them, and get them into Metron easily.
