(Note: EponaTech does not sell this unit. You can
find it from several sources on the internet for $1100 or so. We
think it would be great as a means to capture images for use with
Metron-U software.)
SONY GVD-1000 Mini DV Walkman® VCR with 4" LCD Display
Fans of digital video will love Sony's super-versatile,
super-compact GV-D1000. This Mini DV VCR gives you powerful editing
options, crystal-clear playback and recording, and cutting-edge
PC connectivity (USB and i.LINK). It sports a 4" flip-up LCD
viewscreen just add an optional InfoLithium® rechargeable
battery and a pair of headphones, and you're ready to take the show
on the road!
Or you can connect it to any TV with an A/V input when you want
to enjoy your videos on a larger screen. The GV-D1000 makes it easy
to get creative with your digital home movies. Digital Program Editing
lets you assemble up to 20 scenes in any sequence for dubbing to
a second VCR and the built-in infrared emitter allows this
deck to automatically control most brands of VCRs, for ultimate
editing convenience. A slot for optional Sony Memory Stick®
media means you can capture digital still images (at 640 x480 resolution)
or MPEG movies, either from your Mini DV tapes or from sources connected
to the analog inputs. Then you can transfer the digital stills and
MPEGs to a compatible PC via the USB interface. The USB connection
even allows you to stream pre-recorded video to your computer for
broadcasting on the Internet!
The i.LINK jack lets you transfer full-quality digital video
to an i.LINK-equipped PC; it's also great for recording to or from
your Mini DV or Digital8® camcorder. The GV-D1000 can convert
analog video signals (from a VHS VCR, 8mm camcorder, etc.) to digital
on the fly, allowing you to pass them directly to your PC via i.LINK
in digital form. The sky's the limit!
