Here's a quick synopsis of the new features in
Metron-PX 1.3
Metron-PX 1.3 can now import images in any of 5 formats:
JPEG files (*.jpg)
Bitmap files (*.bmp)
TIFF files (*.tif)
PhotoShop files (*.psd)
PNG Files (*.png)
Note that in the case of TIFF files, Metron only reads and writes
the non-compressed form of TIFFs.
When you export an image from Metron-PX, you can now choose to
export it in any of the 5 supported file types. Also, and importantly,
there is now an option so you can either export the image with its
"original pixel size as stored on disk" or with it's "pixel
size as currently displayed on the screen". If you shoose the
later, then what you see on the screen is exactly what you get in
the exported file, which is very handy.
In the lower right hand corner of the screen we display the size
of the original file in pixels, and then we show the number of pixels
as currently displayed.
Under image there is now a choice called "Fit
to Screen" which will size the image appropriately for your
screen (leaving room on the right hand side for the Metron menus).
When images are first imported into Metron, this selection is used
to automatically make them size appropriately for your screen (except
in Trial-Mode).
The operations of rotating an image, and "flip"ing
an image have been sped up.
We have added the ability to adjust the Brightness
and Contrast of an image. Look under the "image" item
in the top-bar.
Previous releases of Metron suffered from a problem
in which large images could sometimes cause a crash if your PC is
running Windows 95 or Windows 98. That is now fixed. You can load
an image of any size into Metron, even if you are running one of
these "old" operating systems.
When you add an "Angle Measure" in free
mark-up, you can now choose how you want your angles represented
numerically. There are 3 choices:
A) Always from 0 to 180 degrees
B) From 0 to 360 degrees
C) From -180 to 180 degrees.
