Metron 4.0
Metron 4.0 is a major release with significant new features.
Existing customers can upgrade to 4.0 for only $99.
Reasons to Up-Grade to 4.0:
1) We have restructured the Metron product and it's options with
the introduction of version 4.0. One important reason to upgrade
to version 4.0 is that it supports the two optional upgrades to
the base system, know known as "Metron-Pro" and "Metron-DVM".
You can learn the difference between the three variants of Metron
here.
2) Metron 4.0 includes an improved version of the MEGA filter.
The MEGA filter is particularly powerful for improving radiographs
and other images. Learn more about it here.
3) Metron 4.0 includes a new "Combo Image" -- along with
the lateral combo image (see below) -- we now also can compute an
image which combines the solar photo of the hoof with the 60-degree
DV radiograph. The result shows where the periphery of the P3 bone
lies relative to the hoof capsule.

4) Ability to jump to generic reports for a given animal directly
from the thumbnail browsing interface.
5) Ability to use "Previous" and "Next" buttons
when browsing for an image to import.
6) Numerous minor features and bug fixes.
What's really new in 4.0 are things in Metron-Pro and Metron-DVM!
Here are those updates:
7) Metron-Pro can now compute before/after morphs! A morph is a
short video clip that dynamically shows the change between two images.
A fantastic way to show your clients how the horse's hoof or bone
alignment has changed. You can see some samples on our home
page.
8) Metron-Pro now includes the former "3-D
Option". Now when a video clip is created of the 3-D bones,
it is stored in the Metron database with the other images for that
horse.
9) Metron-DVM now has support for acquiring images from sources
such as Twain, a DICOM network, UltraSound, Video capture.
10) Metron-DVM support DICOM file I/O.
11) Metron-DVM can now create "Export CDs with Viewer".
These CDs include a special form of Metron called the viewer, which
lets the recipient of the CD view the images on the CD.
Past release notes for series 3.X Metron are available here.
